cracked 2-piece manifold for MC...

Hi!

So I missed a perfect 2-piece manifold for the MC motor. My
mechanic sold it along with the 2 MC motors he had. I called
around and found someone who has 2 2-piece units for the
MC, but both are cracked. He says the 2-piece units  still
crack. The one unit he has is welded, the other needs a
welding. Price is about $170 and $125 respectively.

My current 1-piece is loud, ticks and hisses. The motor is about
to be stripped down for a rebuild.

Is it worthwhile getting the 2-piece in used form, fixing it
up and building it up a bit and using that in place of just
welding up the 1-piece I have?

I thought the cracking of the 1-piece was solved with the
2-piece unit.
