Audi Germany

Hi:

Just chatted with my local dealer here in Germany (who had a TT
convertible in the showroom) and thought I'd pass this information along
(mostly about TDIs):

Audi A4s come with 2 types of TDI engines: a 1.9 (4 cylinder) and a
2.5V6 TDI. The 1.9L is rated at 90 HP, but a 110 HP version is
available. Quattro is offered for all diesels and most gas engines, but
the 2.5L V6 TDIs come with a 6 speed. In 6 months the 1.9L Pumpe-Düse
TDI will be offered with Quattro and possibly a 6 speed, as well. If you
really want a TDI, the Pump-Düse engine is the one to get. I expect that
AoA could be pressured into offering this engine over there. (hint,
hint)

2. The only way to get a Quattro in an A3 (basically an ugly Golf) is to
order the 1.8L turbo (gas) engine.

I didn't ask about the A6 because I think they are so ugly. A8 is out of
my price range and the VW Passat doesn't do it for me. Gas engines range
from 1.6L to 2.8 V6 sizes.

The TT is selling well but the New Bettle is a bust over here. Is it
just me, or does the Audi TT look like a Bettle that an elephant sat on?
Besides, TTs don't even have a real Quattro system!

Finally, someone asked what the best Audi was. I would say the Audi
Coupe GT from
85-87.5 is the best looking Audi and the 200 20V (90) or the V8 the most
practical in terms of performance and people carrying ability.

Oh, thanks to all those that responded to my 85 Ur-Q question.
