The same parts store I use also sells rubber exhaust "donuts" (they even have 
three different kinds in stock!) ... last weekend, I bought six of them for a 
whopping $8.56 with tax.  Here in the desert, they don't seem to last more 
than two or three years before stretching out of shape or cracking.

As for the hydraulic fluid, it comes in a rectangular white metal can and is 
marked "Pentosin" ... it's not officially the same as the VAG stuff but since 
the local Audi dealer also sells it, I figure it can't be too bad.
