radio reception a4 99.5

Does anyone have problems with am/fm radio reception? The 99.5 a4 has the 
radio antenna in the rear glass according to the dealer,

Is there an aftermarket amplified antenna that can be easily installed with 
drilling holes in the car? does it help?

The radio in the car is the stock concert (bose version).  Would the radio 
reception on the '00 s4 be the same with the non bose symphony radio?
