First Techron Treatment - When?

This message on Techron got me thinking about running a bottle in my A4
1.8... almost ready for its 10k oil change.

What is the list's consensus on when the first Techron treatment should
occur?

Yes, you're right, that's normal. Gunk has to go somewhere. That's why most
labels on fuel inj. cleaners recommend the oil change following use.
