Also check if the radiator has the air bleed screw at the top. If so, make 
certain that you bleed that section. The 85 CGT I recently acquired did the 
same thing twice while being air tested for the State emissions program. Once 
I let the air out of the top of the radiator, it's been fine. The expansion 
tank cap was the source of the overflow, so having an extra, I replaced it 
for good measure.
