I'll second that. An 80-83 5kt has a lot of very low bass outside it
when idling, but otherwise is a fairly quiet car. One of those mufflers
on my coupe is a little on the loud side. Quite loud and nasty,
actually. the muffler is a real "turbo" muffler, just a perforated pipe
thorugh the middle, no baffles.
So the turbo in the 5kt was doing a lot of noise reduction. maybe I
should get one now I've found a good reason.
