Warm starting/O2 sensor !?

1990 Audi 100 (2.3l I-5 engine)

I just replaced the O2 sensor.  When the car is warm, it starts fine
but after about 10 secs it starts sputtering and nearly dies,  After
another 45 - 60 secs or so, it will rev up and start running smoothly,

Did one of my O2 sensor crimps fail on me, or is it something else ?
Help.
