Reading your post and looking back over my installation notes -- incredibly, 
I actually wrote some things down! -- I'm now wondering if maybe I did 
install it incorrectly as I know I didn't run the boost line from the back of 
the manifold as you're claiming I should have done.  Unfortunately, it's dark 
and raining out right now and the car's on the driveway so I'll have to wait 
until tomorrow morning to check it out and see exactly what I *did* do ... at 
the time, it struck me that boost is boost and therefore it didn't really 
matter which line I tapped into or where.  If I did screw up, it certainly 
won't have been the first time...   :^(
