At the risk of putting words into Phil's mouth, I didn't interpret his 
comments to be an admission that the "spider bite" phenomenon actually exists 
but merely that he was investigating the matter on his own and had what 
proved to be an "interesting" experience in his new-to-him Type 44 chassis 
car.

At the risk of giving him a back-handed compliment, I was surprised by his 
open-mindedness on the matter and felt it important to comment upon it.  That 
said, based upon his observation, I think it's only a matter of time before 
he does get bitten and that's when I expect the discussion will get very 
interesting indeed...
