I posted the website to the list, but it didn't make this digest, I 
think.  Or, that digest, I should say.

Anyhow, Franco also has (had) a conversion that will run the 
ignition off of the crank or flywheel, like a turbo car.  It costs 
another 3 or 4 hundred bucks IIRC.  So, I think your comment is 
restricted only to normally aspirated motors, and there is a solution 
to that as well.  Of course, I could be wrong.  There was just too 
much extra stuff involved in the variable cam gear, so I stopped 
thinking about it long ago.
