speaking of warranties

i'd like sort of a poll of opinions on this.

i ordered an a4 avant, as y'all may know. got
the 1.8t, the leather being the only regret.
turbo because of mods. my plan is, after a
little bit of break-in, to get a k04 and a chip
to go with it. there are mods that give more
power, at the sacrafice of reliability, and
i want this car to have long-term life, even
though i expect i will sell it (or give it to
my girlfriend) in a few years.

anyway, warranty. a reason for me to buy new
is warranty. i don't want to void it, though i
am willing to risk being stealthy. i have heard
that the secret is to find a sympathetic service
guy, i have heard that they won't know, i have
heard that it only matters if they can proove that
the mods caused the damage. in the end, i don't
expect engine problems anyway, not for 5-8 years
or so - i suspect electrical and door handles, as
	is tradition.

anyway, any experience out there? pearls of wisdom?
