RE: 4ikq Fuel delivery problem

Take an object such as long screwdriver, wrench, ratchet, pipe piece of
wood, etc. and give the gas tank a couple of sharp taps. (common sense
dictates to make sure you don't punch through it!) This very often will
get a dying fuel pump going BUT be warned!! If this does work the fuel
pump is on its way out and eventually even this won't "kick start" it.
I doubt if your problem is the fuel pump thought because in my
experience the first indication there is something wrong is that it
won't start period. I can't see it dying all of a sudden when its
already running. Of course it may be the relay as you indicate and on
my 5KTQ its in with the fuses - the relay with the empty fuse slot on
top of it.
