93 90CS Stalling
This is a continuation of my original Automatic/Stalling thread.
Basically, I removed and cleaned the ISV, which didn't resolve the
problem. At this point I ordered a new ISV ($188) and installed it.
Like the cleaning, it seemed to resolve the problem for a day and then
the stalling returned. To revisit; when the car shifts out of the
lock-up converter to 3rd, the car has a tendency (60-70% of the time)
to stall. If I can touch the gas as I slow down or pull the gear
selector into "3" before the automatic shifts the transmission the
problem is avoided.
The next step I guess is to investigate the vacuum system. FWIW, a
while back I had read about the vacuum reservoir (6-7" black plastic
ball, located front left between heads) leaking. I took it off and
pressure tested it with no problem. I also replaced the O2 sensor and
had the cat-converter and fuel injectors replaced under recall.
Any ideas, would be appreciated.
regards,
Daniel Adams
