BMW calls their wagon the "touring"
Volkswagen called their no-frills baseline Van and Bus the "Kombi"
(another FYI - all VW buses and Vans were referred to by VWOA as "station
wagons" until 1980...this was because of some sort of high tariff being
applied to any imported "trucks" and "commercial vehicles" (such as the VW
Bus) back then...i think it was called the "chicken tariff" (long story)..
so VW bucked the system by calling the Bus a "station wagon" to get it
imported...
