Clunking Drive shaft

Over the summer I had my driveshaft rebuilt (cv joints, center bearing). The 
other day we had a good rain, I decided to lock the center diff. to see how 
well it was working since winter is approaching. When i turned a corner, the 
was a horrible clunking from under the car. Sounded like the drive shaft was 
hitting something. This is my first Audi, but I can't believe this is normal. Any 
ideas on what was happening?
