Never seen bad vacuum valves (though I'm sure it happens), seen a lot of
dirty electrical switches at the pedals.  the vac switch is less
sensitive than the electrical from my tests, ie the electrical switch
will open (esp if dirty) befreo the vacuum switch.  So the "bump - cc
off" mode (which I really, really don't miss at all!) is more a function
of dirty hair trigger switches.  Do it right and clean them.
