Still looking for car stereo activation help! 86 5KTQ
The stereo is an Audi stereo out of an 87 5KCD. I plug in the harness
and get a beep. When I unplug the harness it gives off a "dying
beep"for about a second (starts off loud and tapers off) One time when
I plugged it in, all of the characters lit up but this has not happened
again. Now there is no display at all on the LCD screen. The PO had a
different stereo in it, but when he took it out, he left an adapter
plugged into the car stereo harness which leads me to believe that he
did not monkey with the car wiring at all. I checked the fuse in the
fusebox and it is good. Also, this stereo has 2- 8amp fuses at the back
of the stereo which are also good. If anybody has any info at all that
may help, please let me know. TIA
