'88 5kcstq dies, very noisy fool pump [very long]

The fuel pump is toast...
The whine is the key. Will work for some time with a whine, but this is a
warning signal.
Pep Boys may be OK. Not sure of this part, but many aftermarket parts come
from the same vendor with a different box. Not ALL but many. Some of these
parts are only made by one supplier and labeled to look like it is made by
someone else.
Haven't tried the kissing the dash thing.
