I hope not. I think this stuff is done like powder coating and would
actually impregnate the surface of the metal and bond to it. Then again,
ceramic coating is also one of those sacrificial coatings and the
coating probably lasts only a couple of years.
When I call the suppliers I'll ask about this stuff and what guarantees
they give against the stuff coming off.
Don't you think that if it does peel off and is heated the impeller will
chew it up and split it out instead of clogging up?
I was just thinking: the crack on the exit of the exhaust (where the 3
exits enter the turbo turbine), could that be caused by the turbine
housing expanding enough to start to pull the exhaust sides apart and
cause the crack? Perhaps coating the housing would help then. To my
mind this seems about right, but then again it is my mind; the turbine
housing expands more and causes the crack in the manifold. Logical?
