When my MB hits the road again (_this_ side of Y2K I hope) it'll look pretty
close. It will have a 20V half-leather interior, vented rear disks and even
the dash mounted ABS switch. The only thing that won't look 'stock' 20V from
the outside is the steering wheel - I don't like 3 spoke wheels so I've
found a 4 spoke of similar design.
OK, by that time I will have invested an amount of my time in the re-build -
something like 2-3 hours a night for 4 days week plus 11 hours each weekend
for 4 months - what do I cost my time at? At dealer rates that works out at
close on GBP12K, but even a 20V could require this level of rebuild.
The interior cost a total of GBP1200 including the new 'quattro' cloth
panels and the rear brakes cost GBP100 for 'new' old stock calipers and
GBP42 for new disks.
