Re: Motronic question

Depends on the Motronic system. I'm sure you are talking about a pulsed
system, not CIS. There is a funny system unique to my 80 in the Audi world
called CIS-Motronic. The reason they called it Motronic was because the
ignition and fuel system ECU's are in one box. The CIS-Motronic system is
"self-adaptive" so when there is a vacuum leak it supposedly compensates,
but it doesn't work very well in that area. Bosch claims I should never
have to adjust the mixture, but there is a mixture screw on the air flow
plate. If your talking about an 80 4cylinder then what I said above
applies, if it's a pulsed Motronic I'd have to check in the magical Bosch
book for more info.

Good Luck!
