intercooler

What is the progression of intercooler up grades?  I have oil covering both
sides of the intercooler in my 5KTQW, and I am thinking that something might
need to be done.  Is there a larger intercooler that fits from another model
Audi?  Another manufacturer?  When I had a Galant VR4 the popular upgrade was
the Starion/Conquest intercooler, has anyone used this?  I would like to explore
this route before dropping $800 on an aftermarket unit.  
What have some of the listers had success with?
