No difference, really.  Audi simply switched the designation.  It was
4000S quattro for 84 and 85, and 4000CS quattro for 86 and 87.  There
are color and trim changes between model years, but nothing that is
related to the S or CS suffix.  Same sort of thing applies to the
5KT, up to 1985 it was known as 5000S turbo, 86 and later the turbos
became 5000CS turbo and 5000CS turbo quattro.

Now this comment is for the 4KQ and 5KT/TQ only.  Some other Audi
models have real differences between S and CS related to the trim levels
(such as the 92+ 100).  Also, there was a 4000CS and 5000CS (non quattro)
model produced in 1986 as commemorative editions for the 100th Anniversary
of the automobile.  These have slightly different wheels and trims than
the standard 4000S and 5000S cars.

No.  Alpina specializes in BMW tuning.  They don't do Audis.
