Digital Urquattro and race cars
I've finally got the digital camera going and thhis weekend I managed to get
a few shots of my (almost) clean '88 MB Urq outside our showroom. I also
took a few general pics at the track when we had an end of season
press/sponsor event for the five LMS prepped cars on Friday. The five cars
took 1. and 2. pos in Finnish Super Saloon (A4 quattro supertouring), 1. in
Sport 2000 (alike to German DTC) in a Golf, and 2. and 3. in the national
rally championship FIA class A2 (under 2000 cc) in Golf III Kit Car. All in
all a decent season. Also at the track was a new Group A Golf TDI 1.9
(400+Nm @ 2200rpm), an old S2 Gr. N, and various almost stock new Audis.
Got some track time in my own car as well, but I must say the TDI Golf was a
joy on the track. I easily kept up with a slightly modified 215hp A4
quattro on a wet track with the Golf, even though no limited slip diff had
not been installed yet. My car seemed good for a couple of laps, but then
the G60's started packing it in and the fun diminished. The P-Zeros worked
extremely well as did the stock spring/Koni setup in the wet.
I'd be happy to share some of the pics with the listers, but what I don't
have up and running yet is a website to post some of the pics on. If
someone feels like they have excess disk space on their server, let me know.
I've talked about my MB long enough - it's time someone else saw the car as
well.
