RE: Light Watts in a 4kq
I'm jumping in here, so sorry if I missed anything.
You're best off getting Euro lights for a 4kq. I've had a 4k and the
lights are terrible.
That said, if you still want just better bulbs, you will have to spend
some serious money on bulbs. Don't look for the cheesy bulbs on sale
at Pep Boys. You have to get PIAA Superwhites or something similar.
They will cost you upwards of $40/pr. I've heard the Raybrig bulbs are
pretty good. Hella now makes an "HID" bulb that probably is similar to
the PIAA bulbs. I only have personal experience with PIAA Superwhites
in 55/65W H4s and there is a big difference between the stock Hella
bulbs and the PIAAs. Much more light, whiter light, better visibility.
My rec. is for the PIAA bulbs, but you are probably fine with the "HID"
Hella bulbs or the Osrams (Max Power in Britain did a test where the
Osrams and Hellas did very well against the PIAA Superwhite).
I'm putting Superwhites into the A4 Avant when the H7 bulbs are available.
Regards,
TM

Well, I've bought (uh, ahem...) "super white" bulbs sold by GE and now,
Philips. Both are light-blue coated bulbs. Comparing them side-by-side,
*everything* is the same -- the die cut-out, the weld points, the
assembly, the color of plastic fillings -- everything. The only difference
is GE has "Made in Korea" stamped on it, while Philips got its own name on
it. Both got similar pricing, although you buy Philips in singles while GE
is sold in pairs.
Anyway... Can anyone tell me where I can get the plastic connector and the
spades for 9004??
