How to close stuck driver's window on '86 4kcsq

The driver's window on my '86 4kq has recently been making the ugly noises
that I've seen described on the list and on the way home today it finally
stuck about 1/3 open.

I'm going to order a new window regulator tomorrow, but in the mean time can
anyone tell me how to temporarily get the window closed? I have the door
panel off and can see the mechanism but it is not obvious to me how to
coerce the *@!$ thing closed.

Any help, as always, is appreciated in advance.
