Well, one reason I like red is because it has a very short wavelength, and
hence easier to see at night.  Red light is also known for its ability to
preserve night vision.  I also like a cabin flooded with red light because
it gives the sensory illusion of being on an op center in a submarine.  I
guess its all about opinion, YMMV.
