3M Rubbing Compound + Rain X Wax

I came into an extra couple of dollars today and decided to get some new
car care stuffs. I ended up getting some 3M Rubbing Compound. Claims it's
safe on clear coat and removes most fine scratches, swirl marks, and medium
oxidation. I did the worst looking door panel with the 3M and it did a
pretty good job, although my arm is really tired. I usually use Turtle Wax,
but I decided to go with something in a little fancier looking, Rain X wax.
Worked quite nicely, way better finish than turtle wax, water forms perfect
round little droplets. I can blow the water off.
The 3M did leave very fine marks on the clear coat, but barely noticable
unless your nose is touching the door panel. Out of 7 large scratches only
1 is visible, and that is because it is filled with wax. I also used the 3M
where the lettering used to be, it cleared up most of the outline of the
lettering, plus it removed the Thule wind fairing stripe across the roof.
Good stuff, just needs to be used with a machine, then finished with a finer
polish. I have a clear coat, so maybe those out there looking for scratch
help could try this, not recommended for black though.

Thanks!
