Re: Urgently requesting ISV Hose PN/Vendor Info
In my haste to send off my message I forgot to mention
the year and model of my car. (Thanks for the pointer)
Its an '88 80Q. Thanks again.

After almost a month of great anticipation I had a major disappointment
today. Initially one of the recommended dealers/parts vendors for
the Q-List mislead me for several weeks that they had shipped out
the hose. They took my CC info as well as my address and would
promise to call back but not even once did they do so. Consequently
I have personally black listed them and would rather pay more for
parts from a different vendor than from a vendor who goes to the extent
of being dishonest. Just because a customer is buying a single part,
does not give the vendor a right to 'discriminate'. If a vendor advertises
20% off for Q-list members as well as free shipping then they should
stick to that. If it so does happen that this would be to their loss then
they should withdraw or re-state their policy but not mislead customers.
Needless to say they have lost a customer who would rather take their
money elsewhere to somewhere where they can be treated with honesty
and respect.
Naturally it would seem that their loss is someone else's gain. This would
have been the case today but despite my taking time to emphasize and
elaborate on which hose I needed, its location (bottom of ISV valve, running
from valve to Intake manifold) and its physical description ("L-Shaped"). I ended
up getting the wrong hose altogether. I take it in good faith that this was an
error which could have been prevented, had I given a part number, which I am
hoping I can get from the list. The hose I got was the straight hose that runs
between the ISV and (I suppose it runs to the back of the engine). I had
called around and the response I got from all was that the ISV was a dealer
item. If anyone knows what the part number is and somewhere where I can
get it, please let me know. I appreciate the help and advice I have received in
the past on my rough idle problem and it has really helped. I will contact the latest
vendor to see if they can exchange the hose for the correct one but that will
have to wait until Monday hoping that they also won't give me the bad news that it is
a dealer item. Meanwhile anxiety continues to bite in on my part as I remain
anxious to know that the DPR is okay.
