URQ sorting out compression test
Checking compression on the 83 URQ produced the following results;
WET DRY
#1 97 91
#2 62 62
#3 97 91
#4 94 91
#5 92 91
#2 was the suspicious cylinder. Normally I would assume a static wet/dry
reading points to valve train, and not ring problem. My doubt comes from
thinking that the plug was black _and_ wet. A valve that leaks compression
would not produce wet, unless it was a combination leaking valve AND seal.
Anyone concur?
This would also eliminate (IME) injectors, and valve seals (leaking & fouling
plugs) .
What could cause a valve to leak that much? I'm thinking the head has to come
off. Any input appreciated (esp. from the sparring gurus). It would give you
guys a good break from the "action," I posted some questions concerning
interchangeability from a 5kt motor (spare sitting in the corner) and my URQ
motor and received no responses to the questions. Has an old subject line
generated boredom induced delete key enthusiasm?
Still needing advice
