There is a "interior light control relay" on the type 44 cars that
you can use. I did this conversion to my 4000 (took the relay and
related wiring out of a 5KT). Works great.
I don't have the part number handy at the moment, but I am sure
you can find that on the family album. On the 84+ 5000 cars, it is
located on the auxiliary relay panel behind the radio, in position 23.
This is the leftmost one with a blue adapter. The later cars have
two rows of relays there, and it's on the bottom row.
