List,
Today, I picked up the V8. It was the first time my wife had seen the car
and she liked it right away. We went into the shop, took care of business,
and went to the Motor Vehicle Admin. to pick up tags and the like. Upon
coming back and starting the car, the idle was a little erratic. The shop
(which has 3 Audi master techs in the stable of 6 mechanics) took a look at
it and determined that since it had only been driven 200 miles in the last 3
months and the day to day movement from display to inside the shop had gummed
up the O2 sensors. The owner of the shop took me and the V8 out to the
highway to "blow out the cobwebs." Very smooth at 120mph!!! After
returning, the car idled perfectly. Now that my wife was reassured, we made
the venture home with my 4k tailing her new ride. Once we got home, I was
informed that I MAY be allowed to drive the car on occasion. Guess I'll have
to live vicariously through her to enjoy the car. She never asks to take the
Valkyrie out, so I guess we're even.

PS The repair shop is Tri-Tec Automotive in Annapolis, MD 410 224 4377. Good
techs, but like to use "dealer prices" on OE parts. However, looking at car
history shows that they do give a "good customer" discount.

Thanks for the advice prior to purchase,
