Thanks to all those who responded to my tire query. The nicest part, besides 
the number of folks who took the time to respond, was that virtually everyone 
gave the same advice...very reassuring! I drove into a Firestone dealership 
after work today because it was the first place I came to and they found a 
small nail in the tread. They patched it and sent me packing, no charge. 
Pretty darn nice since I have never been in there before. For that 
generosity, they have earned the privilege of removing these tires in a 
couple of months and replacing them with my Hakkas (for a big 10 bucks) <G>
