Buying a So. Cal. Car? Please talk to Me First...

I just looked into the engine well of a V8 at the timing belt. Man, it was
cracked SOOoooooo bad. I mean worse than anything I'd ever seen. I
wouldn't drive that thing 5 feet.

Car has 5,000 miles (that's not a typo 5k) SHOWING. Mike pointed out the
tag on the front of the car that stated the belt had been changed at 60K.
It was puking Goo2000, the rear main was leaking. Mike always looks at V8
belts, no charge, he knows better. Cluster was replaced, private dealer
called the car a TMU (total mileage unknown), but told the owner less than
100k miles. THis thing has at least 120k, I'm guessing much more.

This is the umpteenth car I've seen in sketchy condition, misrepresented, by
the same guy. I glady offer my services to the list. If you are buying a
car in So.Cal, feel free to email me with the details and I'll gladly give
you my local knowledge (for free of course.) And I'm not in the car resale
business, so this isn't fishing.
