RE: steering wheel shake

stephane, the joint on mine appeared to be binding and causing the steering
wheel to shimmy. at one point the steering wheel actually moved about a 1/4
turn as the wheel rotated. at no time did my cv joint click....clicking is a
good sign of wear. i took the joint apart and cleaned out the gummy goop
(like hardening tar). i then replaced the boot and reconnected the cv,
charged it with the correct grease and had no further problems. the car was
later sold and i bought my 86 5kcdtq. this car will have the boots pulled
back and the cv's cleaned and regreased before winter i hope. btw the
weather report is for a 'good' snowfall tomorrow. toronto area
