Re: climate control replacement

I went and checked again, and found the following:

On 84 and 85 type 44 cars with the older style GM CC control head, the rear
defog button is on the CC control panel. On the 86 and later cars, there is
a separate switch. Sorry for making a blanket statement before verifying.

The old style vs. the new style type 44 CC control head look almost
identical, but can be identified by differences in the row of pushbuttons.
The early version has OFF, ECON, LO, AUTO, HI, front DEFOG and rear DEFOG.
The later version has OFF, ECON, BI-LEV, AUTO, front DEFOG, LO, HI.

On all type 44s, the *front* window defog button is on the CC head panel.

At any rate, the relay location I described is still valid.

As to Stephane's 86, I don't know why it's got the rear defog button
on the CC panel. Either Stephane got it confused with the front defog
button, or his car has an older style CC head.
