Anyone driven an A6 2.7T tiptronic?

Got a call from my parents today, and it looks like they are finally ready
to move on a new A6. My dad has driven the 2.8 A6 before, and was
unimpressed with its performance. I told him to have a look at the 2.7T
model (I said get the 6 sp, but my mom needs to drive it too, so
unfortunately it looks like its going to be an auto). Has anyone driven the
tiptronic 2.7T? Is the performance improvement significant over the 2.8 (258
hp vs 200 hp, right?), even with the auto tranny? Is "turbo lag" more
noticeable in the auto vs the manual? Are many 2.7T's being sent over for
sale, or do you have to order them? TIA.
