An old man locally here who has been working on Vw's and Audi's has type 2 
which he is parting out.  He said you would need complete transmission, 
axles, linkage and several other parts.  He said $650 for the transmission or 
$850 for everything needed,  He said he would go through the transmission and 
make sure everything was right before he shipped.  I have known him for many 
years and he has always been straight up on all dealings with anyone I have 
sent him.  He is not on computer so if you are interested let me know.  I 
will put you in touch with him.  I want nothing out of this.
