RE: Re: V-8 Q, what am I missing?

I'd like to know if you're reporting based on one car
only or if this is typical. 'Cause if what you're telling me
about the V-8s is typical I'm gonna be highly pissed that
I let all of those V-8s get away.

My purchase of a '90 V8Q was just in the last 2 months. I can't say for sure
about the transmission. But I did know the previous owner (who had no
financial interest in selling the car) and he reported nothing bad about the
trans (175K miles). My reasoning for purchase of the car was the price. They
seem to be less than a comparable 200. A couple things to consider on
purchase.. Timing belt.. If done recently it will save you from $500.00 to
$1000.00 depending on who did it and what was done. The other would be
brakes. A DIY job on UFO's will still be around $700.00 -$800.00. $500.00
more for a car with the right paperwork would be a wise investment.
Many of the parts are the same as a 5k, some are not, but most are
available. Sometimes harder to find. It took me 2 weeks to locate a rebuilt
axle, but when one was located, it was only $63.00.
I am REAL happy with the car so far and would consider another in a minute.
For my use, the auto is a nice feature as it will be used mostly for trips
and crusin'. Have the 5 speed for my fun stuff.
