Fluctuating Idle

Haudi all

I have annoying problem that has just surfaced on my 85 Coupe Q, the idle seems to have a mind of it 's own. It seems to want to tickover too low @ 400rpm, then when I adjust it back to 850rpm it's ok for a short time then it either drops back down again or goes up to 1100rpm. I cleaned the ISV last night but it made no difference. This morning from cold it started and ran fine for 2 or 3 seconds then dropped abruptly to 200 to 300 rpm gradually getting higher as the car warmed up. I don't know if this connected but I moved the diff lock switch last week and installed the 3 gauges where the diff lock switch is located, this is when the problem first occurred. Diff lock switch works fine with no vac leaks as far as I can tell.

The other thing I noticed was if you shut the car off and immediately re start the idle is fine for a while. I did also have a look for vac leaks last night as well, found none. The car's performance is not affected at all by this problem.

Got me foxed this one, your thoughts will be much appreciated.

TIA
