The ones I have had set the interval by being turned off then on... hmm,
not real clear am I?

Turn the wipers to pos 1, intermittent.  they go once.  Turn them off. 
Turn them on again, pos 1, after the desired interval has elapsed.  They
will now repeat at this interval until you turn them or the car off.
