5000 CS turbo quattro questions

Okay listers,
I think the time as come for me to enter the type 44 ranks. As such,
I have a few possibilities in terms of nice cars that I may purchase.

I've read the FAQs, talked to some listers, talked to some mechanics
as well. I am only interested in a well-sorted car, as it will be my
daily driver and needs to be 100% reliable.

Are there any gotchas that I should look for? I know about looking for
a bad bomb, checking the clutch pedal for stiffness, looking for steering
rack leaks, checking that the climate control works properly, window
switches and sunroof operation, heated seats. What else?

If anyone has a really nice 5000CS turbo quattro that isn't too far from
the Philadelphia, PA area, I am interested. Preferably a car that is
fully sorted. Preferably a car with full service history, or at least a
majority of its service history, with receipts for major repairs.

Do you think it's strange to drive around in a 5k Avant? One car that I
will look at is an Avant. I love the A4 and A6 Avant, but never seriously
considered a 5k Avant until now.
