shock life expectancy

I have Boge turbo gas shocks in my '87 5KTQ and am wondering if anyone has any
idea how long they should last? I put them in 80K ago and can't tell with the
bounce test if they are any worse than new. I'm about to replace most of the
front suspension pieces that can wear (control arms, tie rod ends, strut
bearing,
strut bushing). I'd hate to have to replace the shocks in the next couple of
years
when I could do it now when the struts are out of the car. Any experience here?

BTW, Doing the heater core now. just about ready to pry the box out. (Did the
blower motor 2 years ago). Thinking about using black butal tape to re-seal
the box.
