I had to swp distributors (I guess ) to put CIS-E on my car, and for
some reason I had the vac adv can off.  Maybe to paint it?  Anyway, it's
actuating rod attaches to the arm/plate inside the dist via a little pin
and hole (can't remember  which one has which) and it is a pita to get
them to line up and grab each other.  No force or tricks required but a
bit of fiddling and patience.
