TT Quattro Weekend
Just spent 1200+ miles in a black TT Quattro. Went up to the high
sierras, mother lode country, with lots of twisties!!!!
Chassis is wonderful. Handling, ride comfort, brakes, all of it is well
balanced. Seats are pretty decent for a long haul, and with the
tilt-height seat adjustment and the sterring wheel adjustments, I could
find a comfortable position for my 6'2" 34" inseam frame. Ventilation is
pretty decent and the air con is fine.
I like the notchy gearshift linkage, and the throw length is just right.
I just wish it had about 50-75 more ponies, like a new S4. I miss the
"Yahoo" thrill factor of my S4. Seem to have had a problem with a batch
of bad gas (or the OBD-2 system went whacky), whereby the pedal on light
throttle loads would oscillate between acceleration and coasting, all on
its own. For this tankful, it also was down on power.
Cruising at brisk highway speeds is a treat, with the dollar mark
exceedingly stable and comfortable, even in cross winds and passing the
trucks.
Needs oil pressure/temp gauges, and boost level, or make the multi
function gauge read it.
Car sure gets a lot of stares, mostly from gen x or other sports car
drivers.
I love this car!!! Cannot wait for the 225 ps version!
Audi has the Twin Turbo V6 version running around in Germany. Ouch. 300
