This is regarding the little 2 conductor connector under the middle on the
rear seat:
I almost positive that it is for an accelerometer (I don't know if that is a
word or not). We talked about it on the list a while back, the newer (maybe
89-) have the plug hooked up. It is so if you are on ice and all 4 wheels
are sliding, the car can tell you are moving rather that stopped and pulse
the ABS. I have it on mine (87 5KCSTq) - it is right in the middle (not
connected). I also have heated seats, and they connect with single plugs as
I recall, not the double like what were are talking about. HTH

This car does have ABS brakes. It has a fairly big control unit in the rear
driver side seat as well as a button to turn it off on the dash. One guy
has responded saying the connector is for rear heated seats regardless if
the car didn't come with it. I do not have a bentley manual to verify the
connector.
