Re: renting cars in europe
When I was in Munich a few weeks ago (Octoberfest! he he) there was on display in the
airport a TT coupe, with a sign that basically said "rent me". So I went to the counter
and said "ok". But due to Octoberfest they were overbooked. I was insufficiently
sober to drive most of the trip anyhow.
Company name is Europcar- www.europcar.de. They have lots of cool stuff to
rent- for example a 959 for around $200/day. On a day trip to Hanover for a
meeting we rented a 3-series BMW from them (can never tell what model since
they never have badges there) and promptly hit the red line in 5th gear on
the Autobahn. Way fun.
Or, of course, Hertz, Avis, etc. all are over there as well. BMW and Opel seem to be
the most common, but I once got a Peugeot (oh wait, that was in Belgium).
Have fun!
