Fuel Line Leak at Crimp
Gentlepeople:
Is there any BTDT on trying to re-crimp a leaking fuel line? The car is a
'93 100 CSQ. Beside / from the fuel filter, the braided flex hose is
crimped to green tubing. This would be under pressure and leaks a bit at
start up, especially now with cold starts. Rather than replace, I was first
considering if an attempt to re-squeeze the crimp would have a chance. Any
advice would be appreciated.
For info, other problems my car has had since it went out of warranty (now
at 122k km): Leaking head gaskets ($$$), leaking hydraulic hose, heater
blower motor bearings. All typical problems that have been noted on the
q-list (but denied by Audi warranty: "Sorry, you are on your own"). The
problems seem normal if I compare with my FORD product, however Ford seems
quicker to recognize common faults and has issued 4 recalls so far for my
wagon . And yes, one of the recalls was for faulty head gaskets.
Ha, we had our first snow today in the Toronto area! It has come a month
early! Tomorrow, temperatures will be back up to normal.
