re Fuel Line Leak at Crimp
"Komljanec, Tony" <tkomljan@Mobility.com> asked on the quattrolist:
Is there any BTDT on trying to re-crimp a leaking fuel line? The car is a
'93 100 CSQ. Beside / from the fuel filter, the braided flex hose is
crimped to green tubing. This would be under pressure and leaks a bit at
start up, especially now with cold starts. Rather than replace, I was first
considering if an attempt to re-squeeze the crimp would have a chance. Any
advice would be appreciated.

A hose clamp on the offending connection may work. One lister reported to
me just today he did so after removing the metal cover. My mechanic reports
he has done this, I think without removing the cover. Audi is presently
paying (on an individual basis it seems) for repairs of this very problem on
S4/S6s. I am looking at an AN fitting solution, but as my hose connection
hasn't leaked yet, my motivation is not high enough to pursue it as if it is
an emergency.
